Gazeley Signs Off the Year with 100% Building Occupancy in France Increasing the Total Volume of Assets Under Management to 6 Million SQ FT Globally

SPACE TOTALING 37,400 SQ M LEASED AND PROVIDED AT MAGNA PARK GRAND EST AND G.PARK DOLE FOLLOWS SIGNIFICANT ANNOUNCEMENT EARLIER IN THE SUMMER TO DEVELOP A 51,000 SQ M TURNKEY PROJECT FOR GLOBAL TOY AND JUVENILE PRODUCT RETAILER TOYS "Я" US, CROWNING A POSITIVE END TO THE YEAR

PARIS, 18 December 2013 – Gazeley, a leading global investor, developer and owner of logistics warehouses and distribution parks has today announced the signing of multiple deals at key strategic logistics sites throughout France.

The deals completed in December results in the Gazeley France portfolio now achieving 100% occupancy with all properties currently leased. The deals included:

  • The leasing of the two last cells at Gazeley's 77 hectare Magna Park Grand Est development in Nancy to Evrard DPE, the pharmaceutical distribution group and branch of WELCOOP Groupe Conseil Santé and Supergroup company, the food division of Logista France for 6,200 sq m and 6,000 sq m respectively. Evrard DPE already a customer of Gazeley occupy a 6,800 sq m cell and have signed a deal to take a further additional cell of 6,200 sq m, bringing the total amount of space under occupation to 13, 000 sq m of storage capacity. Supergroup, a leading local supply company with 70,000 sales outlets and subsidiary of the Imperial Tobacco Company are a new customer and confirmed as new tenants of the fourth and final available cell within the warehouse of 6,000 sq m.
  • The handover of a newly extended 25,200 sq m pan-European distribution hub for a world leading manufacturer at the 77 acre G.Park Dole development site in an established, strategic location within the Innovia zone in the eastern French Jura region. The building is situated in close proximity to the customer’s existing production facility and will be used to dedicate the efficient distribution of a new product range.  

These deals follow the announcement of a major project earlier in the year with Toys "Я" Us for a 51,000 sq m turnkey logistics facility on a 13.5 hs plot in the Paris region of Saint-Fargeau-Ponthierry. Toys "Я" Us are the world’s leading dedicated toy and juvenile products retailer and will use the site to develop a dedicated logistics campus that will comprise of a new state of the art 48,000 sq m national distribution centre together with 3,000 sq m of office space that will serve as the retailers head office. Construction is due to commence in June next year.

Speaking about the announcement, Development Director Vincent Gourlin commented, “We are very pleased to have signed these deals which fully achieves our intended target of full occupancy during 2014. These two transactions together with the deal with Toys "Я" Us constitute a positive end to the year for Gazeley France and we look forward to 2014 with a great deal of positivity with more of the same to come."
